Network Projects
Flexible programme for international research and development cooperation
The Network Projects programme provides access to funding for international research and development projects. It is designed to be flexible, with few limitations on the organisations that can participate in a project.
How Network Projects supports you
This programme provides access to funding for research and development projects in a range of areas. As well as the general open call for projects, several sector, technology, or geographic specific calls are launched each year.
How the Network Projects programme works
Project applications can be made throughout the year and do not have to fit into any specific area of research, development or innovation. Projects are assessed by your National Funding Body.
There are different types of call. A general call for projects is permanently open. National Funding Bodies also work together to launch specific calls for projects throughout the year. These calls are usually based on a particular theme or area of technology and are also often limited to certain countries.
Depending on the details of the call and the country where you are applying from, support might be either as a grant or loan.
How to apply
A general call for projects is permanently open. Sector, technology, or geographic specific calls for projects in the Network Projects programme are also open several times a year. If a call is open, it will be listed below and on our open calls page. If no call is open, you can check back here later or subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed.
Who can apply
Your project must meet several criteria to be eligible for funding under the Network Projects programme:
Eligibility criteria
- Your project consortium must be made up of at least two entities that are independent from each other.
- Your project must be intended to research or develop a product, process, or service.
- Your project must be exclusively focused on civilian, non-military applications.
- The members of your project consortium must come from at least two participating countries.
- No single organisation or country can be responsible for more than 70% of the project budget.
You can participate in a research and development project even if you are not eligible to receive funding.
Detailed guidelines on making an application, and the evaluation process, are available in the resource library.
National Funding Bodies often have additional rules about which organisations can receive funding. You can find these rules in each call for projects.
